Methodology

Teaching Methodology:

We generally follow child and Teacher-centered teaching methods such as lecture, questioning, and demonstration. We also follow other popular teaching methods such as interactive teaching methods (discussion, group work, peer teaching), Individualized teaching methods (programmed instruction, modularized instruction, independent projects, and computerized instruction) and experiential teaching methods (field/clinical, laboratory, role playing, simulations/games, drill

At SAI, we provide education with an objective to empower students to make decisions, to find creative solutions and plan effective action strategies. The curriculum is structured in a manner that keeps your child in touch with the ever-changing world trends, right from the junior year to the senior level.

We constantly revamp, reinvent and evaluate the classroom and teaching strategy to create the most appropriate education that your child deserves. The study program for all learning levels is unique because it is a cross-fertilization of the finest teaching methodologies.

The Pre-Primary Level (Kindergarten) :

• Learning is made interesting, fun and activity oriented at this level

• Poems and stories are dramatized using expressive actions

• Focus is on developing communication skills and on reinforcing an innate sense of discovery in everything that is taught

• Children learn to comprehend through a multi sensory approach as concepts in Number Work, English and E.V.S. are made clear with the use of multimedia

•Nature walks and regular educational tours to the interesting places develop a sense of openness towards the world

Primary and Secondary Level (Class I to X):

• A thematic approach is designed to stimulate the children through various inter-active sessions and activities

• An extensive use of technology aids to supplement classroom teaching

• Project works in class calls for mass participation. An equal emphasis is laid on developing a strong sense of individuality

• Field trips and excursions make learning fun

• Use of the newspaper articles, quizzes, crosswords and other learning tools enhance general awareness.

Computer Lab:

The school has a computer lab meant for teaching and using for their class work to all levels of students. Each class of the primary education has at least one flexible schedule lab hour in a week. The Computer Lab contains optimal networked computers with high-speed dedicated Internet connectivity. Of these machines, all are accessible to the students of all grades depend upon their teaching and learning requirement. Teachers will book the lab for their classes and during leisure time students can use for their learning purposes. These labs can be used for their project work, literature searches, word processing, enrichment, research, reinforcement and remediation programs related to their curriculum. Scheduled times for students to use these systems will be set and/or will have an opportunity to use it in extended hours.

Language Lab:

The Language Laboratory is used for language tutorials. These are attended by Preparatory Course students and students who voluntarily opt for Remedial English classes. Lessons and exercises are recorded on a weekly basis so that the students are exposed to a variety of listening and speaking drills. This especially benefits students who are deficient in English and also aims at confidence-building for interviews and competitive examinations. The Language Laboratory sessions also include word games, quizzes, extemporary speaking, debates, skits etc. English language will be specially taught to improve the listening skills, increase the accent of English speaking countries and reduce the local accent. German and French will be introduced as an option to interesting students.

Multimedia Courseware :

The library has various types of collections including books, magazines, Vices, VCD, DVD, and other types of courseware materials covering all the subject areas related to primary school teaching and learning. This School Media Library has Learning resource and teaching materials covers on Mathematics, Science, Technology, History and Geography. Library also provides a good amount of reading space for the students.

Homework :

At the infant stages this will amount to reading and perhaps some spelling test or any other related small tasks. Further up the school, the amount will increase a bit more however; at no time should a child spend longer than 30-60 minutes on homework. Most of their work they will be doing in the school itself.

Physical Education :

With our physical education teacher’s guidance, we intend to give the children a progressive programme of Gymnastics, Games Skills, Yoga, Healthy Living and Dance. We have around 1200 square yards playground in a very close vicinity of the school for children to attend to physical educational classes and also play games. The students will be provided transportation for going to playground and coming back. A qualified and professionally trained Physical Instructor will take classes of physical education to all levels of students on regular basis.

Assessment :

The teacher is constantly assessing the child in the day-to-day activities of the classroom. In this way, the tasks and project work planned for each individual child or group of children can be suited exactly to their needs. Each teacher keeps notes on each child and a précis will be delivered to each parent in the child’s report card. The progress of their children may be monitored by the parents on the Web by providing secured password access to authorized users only. We intend to do all communication through electronic modes only.

Report to Parents :

Written progress reports are issued to all parents at the end of each term. In general, Parents Teacher Meeting” will be held at the end of each term where parents will be invited to come and discuss about the progress of their child along with any concerns they have.

Parents Teachers Association :

Parents Teachers Association will be formed soon after the admissions process is over. The Office Bearers and Committee members are elected and thereafter plan their programmes for the school session. By default the Chairman of the SAI and the Principal of the school are the executive members the association. A variety of activities are held annually to bring parents and school community very close and work together for providing best education to the students. Donations to the school are welcome to purchase of educational equipment, which will be great value to the school. After each meeting a newsletter is circulated to all parents and we hope all parents will join and support this association.

Extra Curricular Activities/Optional Sessions :

Children may learn to play music and other extra curricular activities on payment basis after school working hours. Depend upon the demand, the management will introduce more number of classes and courses as an optional to the students after the school hours. Transportation will be provided to the students who will participate in after school hours sessions. There will be an additional charge per term per student for taking optional sessions and transportation. Professionally qualified and eminent teachers will be arranged by the school to teach optional sessions to our students.

Attendance :

Children should be in regular attendance except when genuinely unwell. If they are likely to be absent for some time, the school should be informed about the nature of the illness and of the probable length of absence by letter to the Principal. Parents should give children a note on their return to school, with a reason for their absence to their classes.
